Marquette County Housing Now

Housing Now is an initiative hosted by the LSCP Foundation that brings together private, non-profit, and public sector partners to collaborate toward meeting the goals of the 2024 Target Market Analysis to build 980 new units and rehabilitate 1,445 existing units each year in Marquette County through 2029. This group’s efforts are guided by the LSCP Strategic Framework for Housing. About Housing Now 

Mission: To facilitate the creation of new and rehabilitated housing units across Marquette County, particularly units available to individuals and families making 80 – 120% of the area median income. 

Vision: Marquette County is home to a consistent pipeline of diversified housing developments that meet the needs of individuals and families at all stages of life and allow businesses to retain and attract talent to grow and prosper. 

Goal: To meet the needs identified in the Marquette County Target Market Analysis (980 new units and 1,445 rehabilitated units annually) 

Focus Areas: 

  • Data: Collect, maintain, and distribute up-to-date, accurate data to inform new housing projects, policies, and conversations. 
  • Education: Provide timely information and insight on housing development, workforce needs, and policy options. 
  • Policy: Work with local, state, and federal officials to advocate for essential policies that unlock the potential for more housing. 
  • Regulation: Work with local, state, and federal partners to ensure streamlined approval and permitting processes. 
  • Skilled Trades: Support the maintenance of our skilled trades pipeline in the region to provide necessary labor for housing development. 
  • Innovation: Explore innovative housing types, construction processes, and policies that create more diversity, lower costs, and reduce build time for new units. 
  • Finances: Support various financing tools and options for housing development in Marquette County.

Funding Support 

The LSCP Foundation is accepting donations to support this initiative’s work. Funds directed to this work will be placed in an internal restricted fund dedicated to housing efforts in Marquette County called the LSCP Foundation Housing Development Fund.
